What We've Shipped and Fixed Lately

Not every restaurant software update has to be a big new feature.
A lot of the time, what really shapes the in-store experience are the small problems that only show up at peak hours: leftover orders from the previous table, orders placed but never paid for, a flaky kitchen display connection, paid tables that don't get cleared in time.
In this What's New, we want to walk through exactly what MakanCloud has shipped and fixed recently.
New guests now see a clean order list

As of v8.5.1, self-ordering history is scoped to each table session.
This fixes a very real situation: when a table turns over and a new guest scans the code, they shouldn't have to wade through the last party's orders. The system now keeps each table session separate, so new guests start with a clean list.
Self-ordering is now pay-first
In v8.3.7, we made payment mandatory before a self-order goes through.
The reason is simple: if QR ordering lets people order first and pay later, the restaurant carries the risk of an order hitting the kitchen with no money collected. Now the flow is order, pay, then everything else happens. That trust gap is closed.
Table QR ordering is officially live

v8.3.0 launched table-side QR self-ordering: every table gets its own QR code, guests order without logging in, pay through HitPay, and the order drops straight into the KDS and prints station tickets.
It's not a standalone ordering page. It's wired into the kitchen, the printers, and the table workflow. For short-staffed restaurants where orders tend to queue up or get missed, having all of that connected matters even more.
Fixing the on-the-floor details across POS, tables, and KDS
v8.3.8 shipped 5 fixes across POS, tables, and KDS, including self-healing KDS SSE reconnects, clearing paid tables, and a proper flow for recording why a dish was voided.
None of this sounds like marketing copy, but these are exactly the problems restaurants run into during the rush. What we care about is whether the system gets out of the way when things are busy.
MakanCloud's direction hasn't changed: one system that handles ordering, central kitchen production, picking, dispatch, delivery, sign-off, and POS.
