Missed Orders, Walkouts, and Long Queues at Peak Hours: How QR Table Ordering Fixes Them

Plenty of restaurant owners in Singapore know these three problems well. You're short-staffed on weekends, so customers sit there with their hands up and nobody comes over. The ordering queue gets long and people run out of patience. And the worst one: orders get written down wrong or never reach the kitchen, and some diners eat and leave without paying.
MakanCloud's table QR self-ordering came out of tackling those exact problems, one release at a time. Here's how it works.
One table, one code: customers do their own ordering

Every table gets its own QR code. Customers scan it and order right away, with no login and no app to download. Taking orders is the job that eats up the most staff time, so when you're short-handed it's the first thing to hand off. Your staff can then put their energy into running food and looking after guests.
Pay first, no exceptions: closing the trust gap

We added this as a hard rule in v8.3.7: after ordering, customers have to pay before the order gets submitted. It fixes the most awkward hole in self-ordering, where someone orders, eats, and is gone by the time the bill comes. With payment up front, owners don't have to worry, and nobody has to go table to table collecting payment during the rush.
Paid orders go straight to the kitchen, no hand-off needed
Once payment goes through, the order lands in the KDS (Kitchen Display System) automatically and prints a ticket at the right station. Staff don't have to pass the order to the kitchen by hand, so a lot fewer orders go missing.
We later fixed a few smaller things too. The KDS reconnects automatically when the network drops, so orders don't get lost. Tables that have paid get cleared automatically, so the next group's orders don't mix with the last group's. Order history is kept separate for each table session, so new customers who scan the code see a clean list instead of whatever the previous table ordered.
It's not a standalone ordering kiosk
This part matters: MakanCloud's QR ordering connects to inventory, purchasing, and the POS on the back end. It's a different approach from buying a separate ordering tablet. Because it's all one system, what gets ordered out front, what the kitchen sends out, and how much stock gets used are all tracked together.
On pricing: the Starter plan starts at S$59/month, and there's a 14-day free trial of the Pro plan. You don't need a credit card, and initial setup takes about 5 minutes.
